Switched Rack PDU Measured by Output

Switching and output metered Rack Power Distribution Units offer real-time energy management and output-level on/off control to provide advanced data center energy management.

APC Switch Cabinet Metering by Output Power Distribution Units (PDUs) provide active metering and remote on/off control of individual outlets. Metering by output enables users to optimize energy and plan detailed capacity. User-defined alarm thresholds reduce risk with real-time local and remote alarms to warn of potential circuit overloads. Metering by Output provides granular power usage data to help Data Center Managers make more informed decisions to load balance and right-size their IT environment for the lowest cost of ownership. Switching provides advanced, user-configurable power control. Switching provides remote power on/off output level controls for power cycling to remotely reboot equipment and restrict unauthorized use of individual outlets. Sequential power delays allow the user to determine the order in which equipment is turned on and off to prevent circuit overload. Current metering provides real-time remote monitoring of connected loads, and user-set alarms warn of potential circuit overloads. Users can access and configure Metered Output Switched Rack PDUs via secure Web, SNMP, Command Line Interface or Telnet Interfaces, complemented by APC Central Management Platforms using StruxureWare Data Center Expert, Operations, Capacity and Energy Efficiency. The new AP8000 series Switched Rack PDUs feature active power monitoring, a temperature/humidity sensor port and locking IEC receptacles.

Usability

  • Integrates with StruxureWare Data Center Expert -  Scalable management and auditing platform that provides real-time device monitoring and instant event notification.
  • Flash Upgradeable -  Quickly and easily upgrade firmware via network download for future product enhancements. Eliminates the need to replace products already installed in the field when new features are released.
  • Load Indicator LED -  Indicates overload and warning conditions based on user-completed alarm thresholds. Alerts users to potentially overloaded circuits. (Note: Only available on units with local current monitoring.)
  • Remote Individual Outlet Control -  Remotely manages outlets so users can turn off outlets that are not in use (prevent overloading) or energize locked-out equipment (minimizing costly downtime and eliminating travel time to equipment).
  • Metering by Output -  Independent output level power metering provides a more granular view of the power being distributed to equipment within the room. It also provides the ability to analyze component power trends and perform capacity planning.
  • Power Delays -  Allows users to configure the order in which each outlet will power on or off. This helps prevent power spikes during startup that can lead to overloaded circuits and underloads. Queuing also allows users to predetermine which equipment will power on first, allowing other connected equipment to function properly.
  • Load Current Monitor Display -  Total current draw of each power distribution unit is shown by the digital display on the unit. Local digital display helps installers prevent overloaded circuits by providing a visual warning when current draw approaches the strip's maximum amperage draw. (Available on designated SKUs only)
  • Alarm Thresholds -  Define alarm thresholds to prevent overloaded circuits. Network and visual alarms inform the user of potential problems. (Note: Only available on units with current monitoring capability. Please see SKU specifications for availability)
  • Network Management Capabilities -  Fully featured network management interfaces offering standards-based management via Web, SNMP and Telnet. Allows users to remotely access, configure and manage units to save time. In addition, firmware can be updated quickly and easily via network upload for future product enhancements.

Agility

  • Single input power supply -  Supply power to multiple pieces of equipment from a single branch reel, conveniently powering rack-mounted equipment. Save time and money during installation by using a single branch reel and standard connections.
