NetShelter Switched Rack PDUs

Switched Rack PDUs provide remote on-off switching control along with advanced load monitoring for power recovery, delayed power sequences, and output power management.

APC Switched Rack Power Distribution Units (PDUs) provide advanced, user-configurable power control and active monitoring. Remote outlet level controls provide power on/off functionality for power cycling to reload equipment and prevent unauthorized use of outlets. Sequential power delays allow the user to determine the order in which equipment is turned on and off to prevent circuit overload. Current metering provides real-time remote monitoring of connected loads, and user-set alarms warn of potential circuit overload conditions. Users can access and configure Switched Rack PDUs through secure Web, SNMP, Command Line Interface, or Telnet Interfaces, complemented by APC Centralized Management Platforms utilizing InfraStruxure Central, Operations, Capacity, and Energy Efficiency. The new AP8000 series Switched Rack PDUs feature active power monitoring, a temperature/humidity sensor port, and locking IEC receptacles.

Usability

  • 60C Operating Temperature - Select 9000 series PDUs provide the ability to operate in a maximum ambient air temperature of 60C (140F) at full load ensuring reliability and availability even in today's high density deployments. Other models allow up to 45C (113F).
  • C13/C15 and C19/C21 Hybrid Outlets - Available on select 9000 series PDUs only, Industry 1st hybrid outlets allow 60C operating temperature at full load, are fully compatible with standard C14 and C20 power cords, and are future proofed for implementation of higher temperature rated devices requiring C16 and C21 power cords.
  • Hydraulic Magnetic Circuit Breakers - Provide increased availability by maintaining trip current over a wide temperature range.
  • High Retention Outlets - With no special power cords required, high retention outlets provide up to twice the holding force to reduce risk of accidental disconnect on 9000 series PDUs.
  • Field-replaceable NMC - Integrated Network Management Card/Display Module can be replaced in the field to minimize downtime disruption in the unlikely event of a failure.

Adaptability

  • Variety of input and output connections -  The product family includes a variety of input and output connections to distribute 120V, 208V or 230V power to multiple outlets. Having a variety of inputs and outputs allows users to adapt to changing power requirements. APC offers units up to 14.4kW using a single branch reel.
  • Rack mountable -  Offers horizontal, vertical and tool-less mounting options. Puts power where it's needed most - in racks, next to equipment.
  • Single input power supply -  Supply power to multiple pieces of equipment from a single branch reel, conveniently powering rack-mounted equipment. Save time and money during installation by using a single branch reel and standard connections.

Manageability

  • Network Management Capabilities -  Fully featured network management interfaces offering standards-based management via Web, SNMP and Telnet. Allows users to remotely access, configure and manage units to save time. In addition, firmware can be updated quickly and easily via network upload for future product enhancements.
  • Remote Individual Outlet Control -  Remotely manages outlets so users can turn off outlets that are not in use (prevent overloading) or energize locked-out equipment (minimizing costly downtime and eliminating travel time to equipment).
  • Alarm Thresholds -  Define alarm thresholds to prevent overloaded circuits. Network and visual alarms inform the user of potential problems. (Note: Only available on units with current monitoring capability. Please see SKU specifications for availability)
  • Multi-tiered user access –  Supports up to four access levels – Administrator, Device User, Read-Only User, and Network-Only User – with username and password.
  • Network port sharing -  Allows connection of up to four rack PDUs using In and Out ports; requires a single network connection.
  • Outlet Power Sequencing -  Allows users to configure the order in which each outlet is powered on or off. This helps prevent power spikes during startup that can lead to overloaded circuits and underloads. Sequencing also allows users to predetermine which equipment will power on first, allowing other connected equipment to function properly.
  • Alarm Thresholds -  Define alarm thresholds to prevent overloaded circuits. Network and visual alarms notify the user of potential problems.
  • Remote Management Capabilities -  Fully featured network management interfaces that provide standards-based management via Web, SNMP and Telnet. Allows users to access, configure and manage units from remote locations to save time. Also associated with this feature is the ability to quickly and easily update product information by network uploading to installed units for future product updates.
  • 1% Metering Accuracy - Providing the same level of accuracy as a utility company meter by adhering to IEC 62053-21 class 1, 1% metering accuracy provides peace of mind to use these PDUs to bill based on power usage. In addition, the higher level of accuracy ensures the most precise measures for capacity planning and threshold alarm monitoring. Available on 9000 series PDUs.
  • Enhanced Cybersecurity - 9000 series PDUs include APC Network Management card with security features including secured interfaces and a modified password policy providing peace of mind.
  • EcoStruxure IT Ready - Seamless integration of one or many PDUs including alerts and control with EcoStruxure IT. Allows IT and data center professionals to monitor and manage all of their critical IT infrastructure on-premise, in the cloud, and at the edge from anywhere.
  • Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity - 9000 series PDUs provide Gigabit Ethernet to enhance and standardize network connectivity across all assets in the data center. All other models provide 10/100 ethernet connectivity.
  • Outlet Level Grouping - Outlet power sequencing can be configured to group any combination of outlets to power up or down together providing flexibility.
  • Temperature/Humidity Monitoring Port - 8000 and 9000 series rack PDUs provide ability to monitor rack level temperature and humidity in conjunction with option temperature/humidity sensor.

Flexibility

  • Güncellenebilir Flaş - Quickly and easily upgrade firmware via network download for future product enhancements. Eliminates the need to replace products already installed in the field when new features are released.
  • Wireless Connectivity - Compatible with the optional APC USB WiFi Device for cableless connectivity over WiFi that speeds deployment and simplifies moves, adds, and changes (9000 Series PDUs only - expected to be available on units manufactured after March 2021).
